¡Hola!  My name is Brittany, and I was born and raised in a small town in northwestern MinnesOOta.  I like to say I grew up in the woods, and I enjoy typical Minnesota activities such as going up to our family cabin, fishing, tubing, eating hot dish, elongating my vowels, snowmobiling, ice skating, attending the Minnesota state fair (my favorite day of the year!), and attending Twins baseball games! I was a soccer player for 14 years as well as a dancer, and I continue to dance to this day!  I attended college at St. Cloud State University, where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science, with a minor in Chemistry.  In my second year of college I went on my first international trip with our premed club.  I returned home with the travel bug and also inspired to learn Spanish!  I have since traveled to Peru, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Croatia, and Costa Rica  I was able to graduate early and had some time off between college and medical school.  During this time I met my soulmate on Christian Mingle.  I knew I was going to marry him on our first date!  Fast forward to two weeks before medical school started, and we had our dream wedding in Duluth, MN.

I was absolutely devastated (but also blessed!) when I was accepted to medical school in Kansas City.  I had never left my state before, and we had no family or friends there. It ended up being the best thing that could have ever happened to us!  We have loved living in Missouri so much that we may never leave!  During medical school I completed an extra one-year undergraduate OMM/Clinical Medicine teaching fellowship. I also spent all 5 years working to become fluent in Spanish, and have made great progress towards fluency.

I am so blessed and excited to be part of the team at CoxHealth FMR.  The minute my interview day concluded, I knew that this was where I was meant to be!  My passion in medicine is to provide full scope care to underserved populations and continue medical missions work. I know that Cox will provide above and beyond the training I need, with the most supportive faculty along the way.

In our free time, my husband and I enjoy playing with our three kitties, visiting wineries, traveling, being involved with our church, exercising, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
