Successful Journeys Kella Lee's Journey It's hard to do it by yourself.I was talking to Nancy, the instructor, about Journeys and she told me about a new program, Journeys From Home, and asked if I’d be interested. She gave me all the information and I thought it would be perfect because I’m a nurse. With my weird schedule I could do it from home and Skype with Nancy. Nancy worked completely around my schedule for the weigh-ins. For any questions, I emailed Nancy. My main thing was accountability. Nancy was always there for me when I needed anything – answering my questions or explaining how to do something. I needed someone to hold me accountable and I needed guidance. A few days I was out around town and I knew I had an appointment that day so I just took my scale with me. Wherever I was, I would just weigh-in.The reason I started this journey is I knew I was overweight and I have two kids. I felt like I was teaching them to be overweight with my bad habits. I’ve struggled with weight my entire life and I didn’t want my kids to have that problem, too. While doing this program I figured out how to eat healthy for me and how to show my kids that I can eat healthy and they can eat healthy, too. As I’ve gone through this and changed my lifestyle I’ve learned to be more accountable to myself. My 4-year-old daughter helps me measure ingredients while cooking meals. It’s hard to do it by yourself. You need to find a program that works and is supportive – that’s the best thing.
